Community Outreach & Fundraising
In addition to volunteer opportunities at the shelter, we also have the need for volunteers to help us plan and execute our fundraising events. Events such as Fur Ball, Mutt Strutt, and Cruzin' for Critters are important fundraisers for our organization. We also have a variety of smaller fundraising events that we participate in throughout the year. You are guaranteed to have a great time and help support our furry friends!
If you are interested in volunteering on any of our event committees or helping with community events please fill out the application form below. You will be added to our list and notified of volunteer opportunities as they arise. If you have any questions about a specific event please contact the shelter staff at 509-332-3422 or email shelter@whitmanpets.org to inquire. They can put you in touch with the committee chairs and get you started!

The shifts are 6am-9am; 9-12; 12-4; and 4-7:45pm. One person per shift per lot with a total of 8 people per game needed.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
WCHS is involved in a number of smaller events that help raise awareness in our community. Help with publicity, set up, and staffing tables is needed at some of our events. To see what events are coming up, check out our event calendar or contact the shelter.
ARTIST/GRAPHIC DESIGN
Are you artistic or do you work in graphic design? We need your skills! We have three main fundraising events each year and need poster designs and graphics for publicity. If you would like to work with us and donate your skills and time to help us create beautiful publicity material for our events we would LOVE to talk to you!
HOST A FUNDRAISER
Do you like to host events and fundraise? If you have a great fundraising idea and would like to support WCHS, we are always grateful for the support. We would love to hear about it and see how we can help. You can sell a service or item, or organize an event such as a walk or fun run. Money helps us take care of the medical needs and operational costs for the shelter. It might not be the most "fun" but it is CRUCIAL!
HOST A SUPPLY DRIVE
We are frequently in need of supplies for ongoing operations at the shelter. If you would like to organize a supply drive to collect donations or supplies for the shelter we can supply you with a list of items that would be most beneficial at the time. We also have a list of In-Kind donations that are frequently needed and our Amazon wish list under the donation section of our website.
OUTREACH IDEAS
We are always looking for ways to involve the community so if you have any ideas for events or projects we would love to hear from you!
