Volunteer With Us
Volunteers play a crucial role in our mission. Thank you for considering volunteering with us and making a difference for the pets of Whitman County.
In Shelter Volunteer Opportunities
We have various volunteer opportunities available to fit your schedule and preferences.
Volunteers in the shelter must be 16 years or older and complete required orientations before their first shift.
General Volunteer shifts are all about making a real impact behind the scenes! From laundry and dishes to organizing and other daily tasks, your help keeps the shelter running efficiently and ensures our animals receive the best possible care.
General Volunteer Shifts
Dog Enrichment Volunteer shifts are all about making a real impact with our shelter dogs! From walks and enrichment to one-on-one interaction, your time helps reduce stress, build confidence, and prepare dogs for success in their future homes.
Dog Enrichment Volunteer Shifts
Volunteer Off-Site
Offsite volunteer opportunities are ideal for kids under 16 and those with small community service requirements for classes. Volunteers can make enrichment items at home for our shelter pets, assist community members with pet-related needs, and more. These options are flexible, allowing you to support the shelter in meaningful ways, even if you can’t volunteer on-site.
Group Volunteering
We welcome students and groups to assist our shelter pets while gaining valuable experience. Group volunteer projects provide a fun, meaningful way to spend a day together making a difference. There are always projects at the shelter including grounds maintenance, cleaning support, event support, and more. Due to limited space and availability, we can only accommodate a select number of projects and volunteer groups at a time. We would love to work with your group!
