Whitman County Humane Society wants everyone to have the ability to spay or neuter their companion animals.
WCHS is dedicated to promoting spaying and neutering of dogs and cats to reduce the over-population of companion animals. WCHS firmly believes that reducing the population of cats and dogs in our county will ultimately reduce the number of stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals in our community.
The Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) provides financial assistance to pet owners in Whitman County for the spaying and/or neutering of their cats and/or dogs. Whitman County Humane Society reimburses participating veterinarians the amount listed below:
- $22.50 for cat neuters
- $40 for cat spays
- $45 for dog neuters
- $50 for dog spays
If you or someone you know has not yet had their pet spayed or neutered due to financial constraints, please contact the Whitman County Humane Society. You will need to visit the shelter during open hours to complete a quick survey to see if you qualify for a SNAP coupon. If you qualify, you will receive your SNAP coupon immediately. *There is a limit of two coupons per household per year.
Financial support for the SNAP program is generated through grants, private donations, and special fundraising efforts in which the revenue is specifically earmarked for the SNAP program. No general operating funds are used to support the SNAP program.
