My Leanie is doing just great. She has absolutely no idea she is handicapped. I have not yet managed to run her until she gets tired and most other dogs can't keep up with her. When she is swimming you cannot tell that she is missing a rear leg.
This summer I put her in a dog swimming contest and she made it to the final round, beating 2/3 of her competition despite having one less leg than all her competitors. She swims, hikes, and hunts just like any other dog. She has helped fill the hole left in my life when I had to put my last dog down due to liver failure.
Thank you for the Hope Fund that managed to save this wonderful dog.
