My relationship with Holly set the stage for what I already know to be true-the impossibility of ever forgetting this dog-and the invaluable role she will play in the remainder of my life, and in all of my future rescue efforts. It is clear that Holly wanted very much to live, because she worked so hard to stay alive. Holly is nothing short of a survivor! Her will to live outweighed her plight, just like thousands more homeless, abandoned, and stray animals that are waiting for us to find them.
