VolunteersThe Whitman County Humane Society needs more than contributions, we need volunteers. The money obtained during our membership and fundraising activities meets the needs for paying the bills. However, there is much work to be done to caring for animals - feeding, grooming, vaccinations, exercising, and more. With only two full time staff at the shelter and one in the office, we need volunteers to help get the work done. There are many ways to volunteer. You can volunteer your time, your supplies, and, of course, your spare change. Remember - it's all about helping the animals. Volunteer of the YearYan Chak Chong, Volunteer of the Year, is a person who makes a difference in the lives of our animals. He has donated over 400 hours of service to the care of our animals since January. He donated over 100 hours in the month of September! Teresa Asman, shelter manager, calls Yan Chak Chong an invaluable asset to her. In the photograph below, Teresa is presenting an award plaque to him in appreciation for all of his hours of service. ![]() Here are some suggestions on how you can help too:

I know, I'll donate to the Humane Society for use at their shelter.' And, so he did. Pictured here, we see Greg Wust, WCHS President taking ownership of our new van. Thank you Bill!!!! ![]() I want to volunteer! will send email to our admin office. Here is the volunteer form you might want to go ahead and fill out before you email. =========================================================== |
