Services
Whitman County Humane Society is more than just a shelter. We
offer a number of services to the general public.
- Spay and Neutering Assistance : Our S.N.A.P. program
offers assistance to Whitman County residents in not only finding a
veterinarian to assist with the spay or neutering, but financially as well. See
our S.N.A.P. webpage for details.
- Microchipping : Many pets and animals are lost each
year. And most don't find their way back home because when they are found, no
one knows how to find the owner. Now there is a small microchip that can be
implanted below the skin with a unique ID that identifies your pet and is
registered in a national databank. So, if your pet is ever lost or stolen, it
can be readily returned to you when found. The cost is only $30. Call our
shelter for details.
- Adopting a Healthy Wonderful New Pet : We are best known
for finding wonderful animals new homes. The minimal fee for adoption includes
spay/neutering, a health exam, vaccinations, and microchip with prepaid
registration - not to mention our knowledgable and courteous staff will offer
advice and assistance in acclimating your new pet to its' new home. Just having
an animal spayed would cost more!! Here is the fee schedule:

However, if you need to leave your pet behind for whatever reason, for a small
fee of $25, we will take this animal in and find it a new home (note: this is
on a 'space available' basis)..
