SNAP Program
Whitman County Humane Society wants everyone to have the ability to spay or neuter their companion animals.
The Whitman County Humane Society is dedicated to promoting spaying and neutering of dogs and cats to reduce over-population of companion animals. WCHS firmly believes that reducing the population of kittens and puppies in our county will ultimately reduce the number of stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals.
The Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) provides financial assistance to pet owners in Whitman County for the spaying and/or neutering of their dogs and/or cats. WCHS reimburses participating veterinarians 75 percent of the cost, not to exceed $50. Financial support for the SNAP program is generated through private donations and special fundraising efforts in which the revenue is specifically earmarked for the SNAP program. No general operating funds are used to support the SNAP program.
If you or someone you know has not yet had their animal spayed or neutered due to financial constraints, please contact the shelter manager at 509-332-3422. You must visit the shelter during open hours to pick up your SNAP coupon. There is a limit of four coupons per household per year.
